About Us
BYS Law Firm has been founded by Maral
Büyükkürkçü in 2024. Maral graduated from Galatasaray University Faculty of Law in 2012.
Right
after graduation, she started working at one of the leading law firms in Turkey as a legal
intern and continued in the same law firm to gain extensive experience in intellectual and
industrial Property law for up to 12 years.
During this period, she provided a wide
range of
legal services to her clients on trademark, patent, design, copyright, unfair competition
and
domain names. She determined strategies for her clients in the protection of their rights
regarding intellectual property law, resolved disputes amicably and contentiously, carried
out
various litigation proceedings before the relevant courts and administrative institutions,
and
executed necessary procedures before the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.
In
this
context,
she represented multinational and local companies in cases of cancellation of decisions,
invalidity and infringement arising from trademark, patent and design rights, negative
declaratory actions, compensation cases arising from the infringement of the aforementioned
rights and unfair competition disputes. The companies mainly consisted of entities operating
in
the automotive, pharmaceutical, retail, fashion, textile, cosmetics, electronics,
telecommunications, media, and food sectors.

Maral has written various articles within her work scope that have been published in international media such as Mondaq, Turkish Law Blog, Lexology, and Managing IP. She has been announced among the rising names of the sector by Euromoney’s MIP IP STARS in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
